Dr. Purnell
He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons as well as the Arthroscopy Association of North America where he is an Associate Master Arthroscopy instructor. He has been an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Drexel University College of Medicine. His research work has been published in medical journals and he frequently presents at Orthopaedic conferences throughout the country, with particular interest in Patellofemoral disorders and Cartilage Restoration procedures. He previously served as the co-director of the Allegheny Health Network Center for Cartilage Restoration.
Dr. Purnell has served as a team physician for the Pittsburgh Pirates and local high schools throughout the Greater Pittsburgh Region prior to relocating his practice to Morgantown.
